The edibles category is for things like cake toppers or sugar crafts, not for perishable foods like biscuits, cakes or jams or other things with a short shelf life.  We are not a cookery site. There must be artistic skill involved, not just cooking skill.

Sellers who continually submit their items disregarding our submission criteria, will have their accounts blocked without further notice or explanation.

NOTE FOR JEWELERS:

PLEASE READ THE CRITERIA AS MULTIPLE ERRONEOUS SUBMISSIONS MAY LEAD TO PERMANENT BLOCKING OF YOUR ACCOUNT – Due to high volumes of jewelry submissions we have to be strict as to what is approved to keep the site looking balanced.  The main components must be handmade BY YOU and show a special skill like lampwork, wirework, metal-smithing, ceramics etc.  We will not permit items assembled with purchased components, even if those are handmade by someone else.  We will check shops and if your items do not fit the criteria, your permission to use www.etsylush.com may be stopped without further notice or explanation.  If it is not clear from your profile as to whether you make the items yourself or not, they will not be approved.

We will accept items made with purchased components if they are very intricate and show a lot of design skill, for example intricate beaded designs. Simple wirework designs will not be approved. We do permit metal clay creations.

Generally your designs must be intricate and show skill, we will no longer be approving simple designs as we have been doing.  Any simple designs you may see on the site, will expire after 2 months. Simple designs would also include hand-stamped disks and simple wirework pieces.

Your items may not appear for up to a week, please do not re-submit them. Items should only be submitted once.

FINE ART AND REPRODUCTION PRINTS
A Fine Art Print is an image created by an artist from a plate, stone, block, ie lithographs, stencils, etchings etc. Prints are numbered and signed in pencil by the artist beneath the image, after the edition is printed.

A Reproduction Print is a copy of an original painting, drawing, etc. The original work is photographed and reproduced by a printing process.  Giclee prints are reproduction prints.

Limited Edition runs may apply to both Reproduction Prints and Fine Art Prints.

Why did my item not appear?
The main reasons for submissions not being approved are:

- characters (& (brackets) + or “apostrophes”) in the file name
- erroneous links going to pages other than the item in question
- quality of photography
- composition of the photo (ratio is 3 to 2 landscape orientation)
- unsuitable content
- too many tags
- url or blatant advertising
- too many submissions

Bad composition can be an issue since the images on etsyLush get cut off slightly top and bottom.  It is pointless us approving an item that is not recognizable. The actual size of images that you see on www.etsylush.com is 300pixels wide by 200 pixels high and the ratio is 3 to 2.  Your image should be at least 600 x 400 minimum size to keep the quality.  The optimum size for the site is 900 x 600 landscape orientation.

Do I retain copyright of my images?
Absolutely!  We do not take ownership of your images for any purpose.  You upload them to the site and we drive traffic to etsyLush, that’s all we do.  All images MUST link direct to the item you are selling or they are not approved.  By uploading your images, you give us permission to display them on etsyLush.

Can I submit every day of the week?
Yes but we may occasionally stop submissions to the free categories for a few hours.  When we do, we will leave a message on the submission form and you will not be able to upload any items.   This does not apply to the Gift Guide section.

Will my item appear on the front page?
Only submissions to the Gift Guides section appear on the front page.  Items submitted to the free section only appear in the relevant Categories.

How can I see what I have submitted?
If you are logged in, you can go to the submissions page, scroll down and you’ll see a link ‘my posts’ bottom right.  Click and a page will come up with all of your approved submissions.  This is your own unique page.  It has a url unique to only you.  Posts that have not been approved will not show up here.

Will I be notified if my posts are approved or not?
Currently it is not possible to be notified and we ask people not to write to us for reasons why their items were not approved as we have limited resources.  The onus is on you to check very carefully through your submission to ensure that you have not made any mistakes and that you follow the criteria.  We hope to be able to implement this function later.  The site is still young and we hope to add more and more functionality as our resources permit.

What happens if my item is listed and it sells?
You do not need to notify us as the link will take people to the sold item in your shop. Once there, they can still browse through your other things.

Where do transactions take place?
No transactions take place on www.etsylush.com.  All your links should go directly to your Etsy listing. This is the only way we are permitted by Etsy to operate our website.

Can I link to my shop or my website?
If uploading to the free section of the site, absolutely not.  Links must go direct to the item listed on Etsy. Anyone trying to link elsewhere will be stopped from using www.etsylush.com.  If uploading to the Gift Guides Section then you can link to your Etsy shop or the item listing, whichever you prefer.  Links must still go to Etsy however.

What happens if I delete an item in my Etsy shop previously approved on etsyLush?
If you delete or de-activate an item on Etsy, then people will be taken to an uhoh page on Etsy.  We would appreciate it if you could notify us so we can remove deleted items.

Why do my images on etsyLush look faded?
We do nothing to your images.  The images are uploaded exactly how you submit them.  When you hover over the images with your mouse, they will go slightly darker to show you what you’re about to click on. It is just an effect on the page to highlight a link.

My image is being cut off top and bottom. What is the image ration?
The actual size of images thatyou see on www.etsylush.com is 300pixels wide by 200 pixels high and the ratio is 3 to 2 so your image should be at least 600 x 400 pixels minimum size to keep the quality.  The optimum size for the site is 900 x 600 pixels landscape orientation.

Why can I only choose 1 category for my item?
We want you to choose the very best category that suits your item.  When we go through the approval process, we will add your item to other categories if it applies.

How often can I submit items?
You can submit 1 item every 24 hours to the categories.  If this is abused, you may be blocked from using etsyLush. There is no limit on submissions to the Gift Guides.

If my item is approved, how long do I have to wait for it to appear?
It can take a few days to up to 1 week but often it will be within 24 hours.  Sometimes we have to hold back the item because it doesn’t fit with the other items already posted, ie regarding color, or there are too many similar items posted already.  This is particularly relevant in the case of jewelry since we have a large number of jewelry submissions.

Can people submit under different names?
We check each and every listing in your Etsy shops.  If someone is abusing the system, we will know very quickly.  Those people will be blocked from using etsyLush.  However, if you have more than 1 shop on Etsy, you can submit 1 item per day from each shop provided you register under different names and submit under the relative name.  If you submit 2 items from the same account, we will assume that you have submitted 2 items in a 24hour period and may delete 1.

If I haven’t seen my item, can I resubmit it?
If your item is not published and you are sure that you did not make errors in your file name and/or links, please do not keep resubmitting the same item.  Items should only be submitted once. We would much rather spend time on driving traffic to the site than to have to spend time moderating the same items.  Also check the FAQs for reasons why it may not have been approved.

How long should I make my title? What should I put in the title?
As you will see from the front page, titles are shortened. Please bear this in mind when submitting and keep the title space just for the name/description of the item. Do not add your name/shop name, prices, urls or any other information like ‘free shipping’ or ‘sale’.  Make the title relevant to the item as this will provide results with our search function as well as search engines.

What should I add as tags?
Please note that our tagging relates to our website and is NOT THE SAME AS ON ETSY.  Your tags should be relative to the item, not what it can be used for or who it can be given to. We limit tags to just 8 to help you to focus on this.  Mis-tagging items will mean your item will not show up correctly in searches. Using 2 word phrases is good for Etsy’s search function but singular words is better for SEO so please remember, we are not Etsy.  Please put on your buyer’s hat when tagging and consider what someone would search for if they were looking for your item.

Sellers who overload their tags and use multiple words not relative to the item will not have their item approved. Continuing to do so may lead to having your permission to submit to EtsyLush.com revoked.

I’ve tried to register but where’s my confirmation email?
Please ensure that you do not mis-spell your email address.  We are getting many undelivered mails with mis-spelled addresses.  Please also check your spam folder in case it’s ended up there.  Also do not use your etsy username or @etsy.com as an email address when registering.  It needs to be a valid email address that you use.  If you still have not received confirmation, then please use the contact form with your details and we’ll look into it.

Can I write and ask why my item was not approved?
With hundreds of submissions each day it’s difficult to find the time to respond to everyone.  All of the reasons why we may not approve your item are mentioned here so it’s not really necessary to write and ask.  We will try and respond to any questions when we can.

Why can I not contact other users or see their profiles?
etsyLush feels that since Etsy has lots of social networking functions, it is not necessary for us to duplicate those here. People are literally just 1 click away from being able to make contact on Etsy.  EtsyLush has been set only to make Etsy Sellers more visible and drive traffic to their items.  We have the etsyLush team on Etsy where you can also meet other users and have discussions on the forum.

Can I submit someone else’s work?
Yes you can but bear in mind that the item will then show up  in your author page.  You can find your author page by logging in and click the submit link top right, scroll down and you’ll find the link ‘my posts’ on the right.

How long will my listings stay on etsyLush?
Provided you do not delete or de-activate your items from your Etsy shop, then they will remain there for 2 months.  Gift Guide submissions will stay the length of time you have paid for, ie 1, 2 or 3 months and will expire at the end of that period.
